Announcing “Art on the Trails Walk & Natural Pigment Demonstration”

Artist Mira Cabrera creates abstract landscape paintings using a combination of natural foraged pigments and traditional mediums. Join Middlebury Studio School and Middlebury Area Land Trust during Vermont Crafts Council’s Spring Open Studio Weekend for a unique event designed to bring art to the outdoors.

Participants are invited to hike a short self-guided gallery walk along a TAM trail, with Mira’s original paintings displayed along the way. After guests view the artwork, Mira will demonstrate the process she uses to forage and incorporate natural pigments from the trails into her work.

Watercolor supplies and natural earth pigments will be provided for those who wish to create their own masterpiece to take home. No prior experience is necessary, and artists of all ages are encouraged to enjoy this event.

If you are not available for the workshop, you can still stop by any time from 10am-5pm on May 25th or May 26th to meet Mira and see the outdoor exhibition, as she will be on the trail as part of the Vermont Craft Council's Spring Open Studio Weekend.

Follow along @growing_in_process, @middleburystudioschool & @middleburyarealandtrust for more of the journey.
